DESCRIPTION

Lemer Pax lead glass is manufactured by Nippon Electric Glass using high-quality, dense materials. The result is excellent transmission of visible light (400 to 700 nm) for good visual comfort and optimal safety.

It is available as standard with radiation protection lead equivalences 1 to 3.2 mm and in maximum formats 2380 x 1180 mm. It can be cut out and drilled to your specifications.

Laminated lead glass panels:

These panels are made by gluing several lead glass sheets on top of each other. After many years’ research and development, LEMER PAX is now the leading manufacturer of this type of panel.

This design gives the glass panels unequalled mechanical strength, particularly with respect to shock resistance. This high level of shock resistance removes the necessity for transparent protection panels (of PMMA or Lexan type) which causes problems of loss of transmission or condensation.

Both of the optical faces of the glass are protected by an extra-white glass which is itself glued to the sheets of lead glass. The cleaning operations are therefore the same as for normal windows.

These protective glass panels have two other major advantages with respect to light transmission:

  • The lead glass sheets are protected from surface oxidation which causes significant light transmission losses in the long term.
  • Surface reflection (mirror effect) is considerable on high density glass panels. Thanks to these protective panels, this effect is divided in two and therefore obviates the need for an antireflection coating (which is very fragile).

Ordinary panels in cast lead glass:

These single-piece panels are produced by the glassmaking industry. Cut and surface treated, they make up the majority of the current products in use.
